View Full Version : Problems translating rigged car

I animated a convertible hardtop on a car with hydraulic arms and actuators that drive the pieces. I used skeletons in the hydraulic arms to animate them. Now i want to animate the whole car driving forward as the pieces animate, and I have tried grouping everything and moving it as one unit, but when I translate the car group, some of the hydraulic arms move in the opposite direction. To give you an idea of how I animated it: I parented the root of each arm to the piece of the car that it's supposed to move, then the lower parts of the skeleton are keyframed. I grouped everything that's attached to the car, including the skeleton and geometry that is connected to it, and tried to move it, and ran into the problem I described. I also tried grouping everything except the skeleton, since they should just follow the pieces of the car that they are parented to, but that didn't work either.
Any ideas about how I can do this?
