I have a little question about the Cel render in C4D:

I know that C4D has a Cel render but I have only seen a few pics. Is it possible to create "real" anime graphics with C4D? If you have any pictures of anime that have been created with C4D, please give me the url. I really want to know if it's possible.

I'll have to find the actual title, but isn't there a new free cel shader called point12 or point6 or something like that? Also what do you mean by "real" anime? Assuming you can find a cel shader with the right feel, I would think you could make just about anything in any style you wanted!

The biggest hurdle will be the cel-shader; Cinema's built-in cel-shader isn't any good for much except coloured wires, and 12point0 (think carbon...) is at a very early stage, and in any case looks as though just replicates what can be done with fresnel, falloff etc.

I'd be happy to be proved wrong on this one...

Ok, thank you. I was hoping for some more positive answers;) but I'm glad you told me how it is. Maybe there will be a better cel-shader sometime.

there is no plugin like finaltoon if thats what youre asking.

there are some plugins that would help..12pont0 being one.
that doesn't mean that its not possible by any stretch or the imagination it just takes a lot of creativity.
also designer and motion gimmick have some plugins that allow post effects...body paint2 allows for ps filters now so the possibilities are there already.

Wow, these looks good. Thanks everyone. You're probably right about that the tools are already here, it's just let the creativity flow=).
