Hey,

I just started using the solidify plugin modifier. It seems to work great sometimes, then extremely poorly the next. For example, when I try to solidify a simple epoly box with thickness 2 it just garbles the mesh and 'rounds' it out a bit. It is probably just because I am not using it correctly, so I was wondering if anyone knows of any tutorials? or can give me some suggestions or insights into its function.

I'm using MAX 5.

www.maxplugins.de I believe. It is under the modeling max 4.2 section. I am told that it should work fine with max 5.

solidify doesn't seem to work too well in some situations, esp for 'closed' meshes.

if you just want a hollow cube there is a simple workaround: go into element sub-object mode, clone the cube, click flip normals and scale down the resulting cube (which should have it's polys facing inwards)

if this is not what you want maybe give us a better idea of what it is that you want so we can figure out some other workaround ;)
