The character looks very cute and from the pose you have him in he seams to be well rigged too, I would like to give a proper opinion on it but Quacktime wrecked my machine once and I ain't giving it another opportunity.

Nice work on the website I feel it is a bit raw but its easy to navigate and works well. It would be nice to see more 3D work on the artwork section although the sketches are very nice.

Good luck with your demo reel.

Hey I just watched the demo reel and I liked it!
I thought that the lip synch was matched with the audio very well. What did you use to render the girl model with? The pants are animated nicely. I imagine that was some kind of dynamics?
My only negative.... I felt like it could use maybe one more piece, to really slam dunk the point that you can do character aimation.
Overall, I think great job

Frank Dod- Thanks for the feed back. Actually i'm a 2d animator just breaking into 3d so thats why i ave more sketches than 3d modeling on my webpage. And my webpage was thrown together in a hot second, i'm revamping it now though

3dArtz- A friend of mine modeled the and rigged the girl and me to animate for him. It was renderd using maya software render. Go to http://www.iampao.com see more work from him. Thanks for the coments!

2mellow, that's some pretty cool stuff you got there.
Couple crits....
First clip is definatly the strongest. A couple areas bothered me though(very minor though).
The motion in the hands during "you can't explain it" I thought was just too much. I think overall you're doing a great job of using the hands, but not too much. Here it just seems a bit much.
i think the "but pinky" snap is just too quick. If there were some other really snappy moments in there, it could work, but it just kinda comes out of left field. Great job on "certainly had the thing"!!

Two thoughts on the next clip, his walk in looks weightless. Now because your character has such style, this isn't necessarily wrong. I just think it would be nice to see a bit more weight. At the end when his hands start to tremble, and he's geting really pissed off, his facial expresion doesn't match, it isn't as angery as his body posture.

The third clip has some issues with convincing weight. He seems to just float around. The first step he takes with his right foot isn't followed by a weight change, it just goes up and then down. The "Any chicks you want" step also feels totally weightless. His feet just pop around the rest of the clip.

As far as the walking lady, I would push the movment in the hips. I know there is some there, but I would take it further. The hands really bug me when they come infront. It doesn't look like momentum is taking them forward, it looks like they are being pushed. Looks terrific otherwise.

Can't wait to see more stuff with your little guy!!!

Babyhopper-

thanks for the input I agree with what your saying on the rapping rappit piece. i felt it was to floaty to and wasn't quite sure how to work around it. I think the other problem was that it was animated at 24fps but the mov file is 30fps so the extra fames may make it more floaty than normal. The girl is a tough call becuase i was doing it for someone else and he liked the hands that way, i didn't get a chaice to correct it for my reel yet. Anyway thanks again!!!!

the 2d stuff was great man, it really shows off ur animation skills. I would recommend u put the 2d stuff in the beginning of ur reel. Ur 3d stuff shows a lot of potential, its just a matter of some finesse and cleaning up those curves. Cheers - Modi.

Hey thanks guys.

Modi,i think i rush through my work to much i need to sit with it a little longer and make it cleaner. also i get to different opinions from people, some say put the the 2d first, then others say if your going for a 3d job put 3d first, then i hear put your strongest work first !CHEAPERS! So i'm all confused! Anyway, thanks for the advice!
