If u pick the megavideo mirror(MP4 Encode) u can watch it directly on megavideo without dl'ing it. That works with the 480p atleast, my internetcomputer can't handle any higher. [Edit] Just checked and u can watch all 3 resolutions directly.

To TopicStarter: thx for the link!

Unbelievable! What was so interesting was to see the technical improvements since Toy Story 2 (1999) - I mean 1 and 2 were quite similar and then this just blows me away - Andys room looked stunning! Ahh Andy's all grown up :(

As lame as it sounds, it was like watching Pixar mature from a kid to an adult when all the clips of Andy were playing. Pretty spectacular to see it come full circle. I'll bee seeing it just to see it.

I was actually thinking the same thing. I wasn't sure how I'd feel about a new Toy Story movie but after seeing that trailer I can't wait. :D

Beautiful! Wow, you really can see the progression with a return to Toy Story. Thanks for posting this!

Exciting stuff.

Yeah the progression is quite amazing. I was watching TS1 last night with my son for the first time in a few years. Its still great but everything has improved, lighting, animation, fx etc over many films and years since. So even the best was not always as good as they are now (athough technical developements do help too).

For some reason or another I'm not able to download the trailer, it seems that Apple is somehow blocking the download from their site. Was using hd-trailers.net to download the trailer. I have only been able to see it on: http://trailerunleashed.com/trailer/toy-story-3-trailer/

I'm curious as too if they used the same charactor models used in Toy Story2, if they are updated old models, or re-bulit from scratch?

circusboy

My guess is it will only get re-used if it can't be made better.
And its pretty old data too-it might not run well in the 2009 version of their softwares either.

Awww, i felt a tug at the heart strings watching that.

The trailer to the original Toy Story (which came on a cover cd with the first ever issue of computer arts magazine) was what made me drop out of my physics course at Exeter Uni to persue animation. My parents were pissed off, i had no training, knew very little about 3d from playing with 3ds Dos v2-v4 but i knew it was the right thing to do.

I watched that trailer 1000 times. And i still consider Toy Story 2 to be the best Pixar film.

Looks awsome!! I love that it looks like it's a natural progression of the story (Andy going off to college). But I also have a special place in my heart for Toy Story... seeing this trailer brings back memories of seeing the first one. If they came out with a sequal every 7 or 8 years where the toys are being passed along to another child and the adventures that ensue, I could watch them forever. :)

In a way I'm glad that Disney bought Pixar.. because I believe before that deal happened, Disney was talking about making a Toy Story III without Pixar. I am sure we can all imagine what a disaster that might have been.

Sooooooooo looking forward to this. All Pixar stuff after TS1 has been wonderful but this feels like a return home after a journey that is still to uncover things they havent dreamed of yet.

That sounds a bit odd whenI read it back, but hopefully you understand the sentiment. Must be my age!!

Is it time for my tablets!!? lol

Makes me think of my son. He wore out many a TS1 & 2 disc over the years. It doesn't get much better than the opening Buzz sequence in TS2.

Andy and his mom are definetively not the same models, i was kinda pissed about this :s i think they improved their rigging, hair, clothing and stuff, so i think they maybe did the same with other characters

also, andy's wallpaper has stars instead of clouds, even in the old camera shots

but pixar did a great job in teasing me to see what will happen

The rendering looks absolutely gorgeous! Nothing new there I guess.

Not sure about the direction Toy Story is taking tho', early days I know. BUT... Ken meets Barbie pop culture!? Are Disney running this show? Seems out of place for Pixar.

I thought it was weird they used the real names of the toys, wasn't Potato Head the only "real life" toy in the first one? They had those little green army men too, but they don't have an actual brand name like Mr. Potato Head.

I'm just used to them all being generic toys, having an actual product threw me off. The trailer looks absolutely epic for a movie about CG toys finding their way home. That's the way I like it.

EDIT: Totally forgot about ALL of those listed below. Was slinky-dog a real thing?

And yeah, that Ascot line was out of place. Definitely there for the adults, who here knows a child that has any clue what an ascot is?

AJ

Toy Story 1 & 2 have Etch-a-Sketch, Slinky Dog, Barrel of Monkeys, Barbie, Speak & Spell...etc. So it's nothing new for their to be branded toys.

Looks pretty good! I like the premise.

But yeah, that "nice ascot" line was very un-Pixar...
