I know this question has probubly been asked before but, Is there a difference between the $700 dollar educational version of maya and the $2000 dollar version. Is the 1300 off a student discount or will I be losing some parts of the program?

no its the same software with no limitations.

Only you cant use your student version to make money unlike the commercial version.

hmm well thats a switch. sheesh, I shoulda waited before buying the comm license of Complete (crap!).

So is there an bone cheap edu upgrade price too then, or do students have to outright buy new edu versions as they come out? (again, they used to not be upgradeable)

Thats extremely trusting on the part of Alias. I'm not planning on making any money right now anyway, considering I live in S.C. But If a one time offer came up it would really be hard to shell out another $2000 for the exact thing I have.
