View Full Version : Something like softselect or dragnet in Maya?
Bahaya 05-16-2002, 05:41 AM Hello!
I like poly modeling in Maya, but i miss the soft select tool like in Max or the drag net tool like in lightwave...cause they rock :buttrock: especially when i want to create various blendshapes for face expressions etc...
Where is it in Maya? How can i do? Or is there a script available?
Thanks a lot!

I relly never use Soft Selection but i think you can find the tool here:
Modify > Transformation Tools > Propartionals Modification Tool
THere's also the mirai magnet tool on highend, I highly suggest getting it.

What's the name of that tool?
I can't find it.
clay_dough.mel v1.5 Also learn to use artisan, it's great for dragnet type modelling as well.

hm i don't like it.
After the tool is used on a vertex i have to delete my history and then delete the curve it creates before i can work with the vertices again. It slow you down.
you can always adjust the workflow to better incorporate the magnets and speed things up. If you don't want to do that, well there is always sculpt poly's.
