View Full Version : Edge issue with displacementmap

Hi. i have bin sculpting on a female model of mine and was planing on rendering a displacement map and export the lvl 0 version in to max and render it there with the displacement.

wasnt so easy as i thought but i have fixed most of the issues so im stuck on this last one..... how come there is white artifacts around the eyes and mouth. some times in the nose to (no. i dont know how i fix the nose for this render :P hehe)

when im applying the displacement map on the model, the model gets huge and ugly spikes out from his eyes, mouth and nose.

first guess

is the ray distance when you do your map exctraction

I have tried all from short to long to best guess in the search distance....if that and rays are the same.
