Motherboard: Intel DX58SO
Graphic: ATI 5870
CPU: i7 2.8
Case: Thermaltake Level 10

I have a few questions about these parts. I want to do a lot of rendering in Maya. Would this be sufficient for it to be really good at rendering or would anyone suggest some other parts? Would the parts I have above be faster than a Mac Pro with Two 2.26GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon for rendering?

Ignoring the price what do you think of the case in terms of functionality?

Thanks

Sorry not very clear.

Not doing a movie like shrek. Want to do some realflow liquid animation with maya. Starting to learn at the moment but want it to be future proof. Not over the top though.

When it comes to dynamics in Maya I've had major lag issues with Geforce and ATI, but these were their older counterparts. Maybe they've gotten better? I know fluid and cloth simulation used to take me FOREVER with regular viewport freezes and issues.

Realflow? Or Maya? Realflow is its own application.
