Hi everyone

I´m currently working on something mechanical and deadly for my portfolio and choosed this russian infantry fighting vehicle.

I would appreciate any crits and tips on the textures, lighting and overall look of my vehicle.

The textures are no very detailed so far since I have mainly concentraterd on the basic paint coat and baked shadows/lightning effects. The detail work with all the bolts and rivets will come next.
I have been trying to achieve the "chipped off" paint effect. But it looks more like dirt or paint blobs even though I´m using special bump/specular/diffuse maps for the shader.

Any ideas are welcome.

Software: Maya 4.5
Polycount: 10 400

Thanks in advance

Vlad

Thats a nice detailed model.

The materials are a bit too shiny which make the model look like plastic. Try fixing that. If you want to have a worn metal surface, try this tutorial from arild wilo's site. It's veeelly good! Its for a high poly model but it should work the same for low poly stuff

The tut is here (http://www.secondreality.ch/tutorials/materials/wornmetal/wornmetal.html)
