Hello

Since I can't test it by myself, that mean I can't test Lightwave Core! what you think, where should I spend my time, in Lightwave Core or Cinema 4D Core?!
- has Lightwave Core Painting Option like Bodypaint?
- and what's about Character Animation in Lightwave Core?
- has Lightwave Core Advanced NLA system?
- Can Lightwave Core Export SWF Format?
- Can Litghwave Core Import ai and eps Format?
(my goals are, web designe and Character Animation)

many thanks

That is an unfair question.

LW Core is a product that is in pre BETA right now.
Everyone involved is not allowed to talk about it,
Not only that Newtek time and time again has stated that they concentrating on the foundation of the product.

I am concerned now that this thread will become a "commercial" thread.

Having said all that Newtek announced that by mid November they will have a full feature list.

I would wait until then.

What you're paying for is to
1) be a betatester
2) have a say in where you want the software to go
3) get core when v1 is out in 2010.

I think #2 is worth the price of admission by itself.

Those features won't be in core until Newtek says they will be. Ths means Core 1.0 will not have many of these features. Core 1.0 will primarily be for modeling and possibly some basic animation and rendering. Unless you use Lightwave in place of Core until it does. many of those features Lightwave can do already.

With the feature you are looking for. All you can do is look at current Lightwave version. And assume that Core will have all those feature and improve on them.

You have to wait until the car is assembled in order to drive it. Duh!

If you looked at the lw-core webcast... it looks like for now LW-core is just a modelling app, but is linked to LW 9.6 Layout for animation.

Oh, and people are buying into Lightwave, cuz they want the T-shirt, like the guy said :p
(tacky), hmm, i wonder if they'er also issuing membership cards as well :p

well either test drive 9.6 or 4d. Both products are available for your liking . I would start with 4d and then try lw9.6 since there isn't time frame for the trail .

So it's safe to assume this Core thing won't really be mature for a couple of years after release...

I would agree with that. Then again, considering what 9.6 is capable of at the moment, I can wait for CORE. ;)

Thanks all
Like RobertoOrtiz said, I think I should wait for the new Core Version!

If only they gave away one of those really cool rings...well, I'd go for it. the T-Shirt doesn't really do much for me. You must admit that this is really a strange one, eh! Really hope this all turns out stellar cause I truly enjoy LW, but you must know. we are talking about one really cool gotta have ring here, insignias and all, making you know beyond a doubt that you are....the hot pilot of the 3d wars..and even more! Guess what I'm trying to say in a rather meandering way is that it is a good application in its own right and rather a joy to use, but a ring now.....

Give us LW users a good paint software like C4D in lightwave Core.
