Ok,
Aother file managment question. I have a directory called assets with 4 subfolders for 4 different users. Each subfolder is a project folder for that user. One of the subfolders ismy final scene foder. I have a scene in final_scene into which geometry is referenced from the other scene folders. Is there a way to make maya look in the other scene folders one level up rather than for a drive letter specific path? am on win2k and this is driving me insane. When I omve my porject folders to another drive it asks me to point it to all the referenced geometry again rathger than look in the other scene folders one level up.
When I set the project for my final_scene I set the path to \assets instead of d:\assets but it always wants to look on D anyway when I move the folder to a ocal drive to render.
HELP! : D
Directory structure is as follows
assets>
then these folders all on the same level
projectfolder1 projectfolder2 projectfolder3 final_scene_folder
opjects from the project folders are referenced into the scene in final_scene_folder.
I hope this makes sense : )
