Anyone know if you can get say a snazzy Maxon or Cinema T-shirt anywhere? A coffe mug? Mouse pad? Anything? I seem to remember that at least T-shirts were available from HiSoft.co.uk at one time (around the release of XL 7, I think) but I haven' found anything for XL 8. I wanna show my C4D pride! :buttrock:

I got my case last week! A happy surprise.

I'm not crazy about the shirts personally. A bit too "Iron Maiden" concert looking.

I'd be happy with the blue and gray Maxon logo on the front. Guess I have to keep wearing my old Electric Image shirt which I've had for like 6 years!

Although you may notice the caption on that Maxon page "T-Shirt design may differ from the one illustrated". Perhaps they have a Metalica version as well ;)

Just wait till they add the BP2 ones to the store, then I"m sure you'll all buy one ;) Can't believe how many people say nice ass behind my back when wearing a BP2 shirt. ;)

Yup, those Iron Maiden inspired T'shirts were the ones I knew of, but I didn't think they would still be around (what have Eddie got to do with Cinema anyway? is it Eddie, by the way? anyone know?).

So there will be some BP2 inspired stuff as well? That sounds good :)

What about a T design comp?

You can always get your own design plastered on using a laser printer,I did quite a few of my sketches like that a number of years ago :)

now thats a good idea kiwi.

Cartesius: why do u want a shirt with maxon on it?

Cartesius

Why I want a T-shirt (or a mug)? Simply because Cinema is so cool :) I recently ordered the CGTalk hooded sweater and got to wonder why Maxon hasn't got any promotional stuff like that.

I'd certainly wear a Maxon T shirt if one was available... c4d is certainly 'in', no doubt about that...

I am still waiting on those XL8 CDs we were told about where you dont have to have use 7 to upgrade from, you just install from the 8 one no problems.Have you guys got yours yet?

A cup would be nice.Hey Squid just save up all the cups you dont get and apply for a free upgrade one day using said cups as a bargaining chip :)

Bug your local reseller or distributor about this. He should be able to get the merchandise for you. However, probably not for free.

I wonder if they'll do a competitive upgrade on a mug I already have? :D

Look what I found: MAXON Gear at CafePress.com (http://www.cafeshops.com/maxon). I'm not too sure this store is sanctioned by Maxon, though.

Yeah, but would Maxon advertise C4D XL 8 with the slogan "Shorter Renders, Longer Orgasms" printed on a thong or a pair of boxer shorts?

Definite. You have only to look at the pics of their
advertising. Or maybe you can remember the discussion
over the vibrate tool icon ( a vibrator of course :) ).

another funny example of Maxon's advertising here
in Germany. A big breasted girl and the slogan
"Mach's dir selbst" - "make it yourself" (I hope this
is right translated). Very ambigous :)

Ok I just mailed Spotlight :)

Heres some benefits I outlined for them :D

------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi.

Myself and a number of very big fans in the C4D forum over at CG Talk have noticed the lack of C4D apparel,or what we want/like to show off our C4Dness.So I was thinking what about a C4D t shirt competition, here are the benefits I see from this comp.

1 - You choose what part of the branding must be used logo etc. {perfectly understandable}

2 - A t shirt is totally non threatening and will involve all users from the newbie to experienced, some of the challenges etc are a bit daunting for the new guys.

3 - A t shirt comp reinforces Maxons customer friendly angle, and adds a hip sort of one of the boys type of connection also, kind of like we sell you soft but we enjoy hanging out with you as well, excellent for the already good rep you have in that area.

4 - The guys wear the Ts with pride as they have created/participated in the design and the process.

5 - You get some very nice artwork to show places and you can add it advertising etc which will project the Maxon just one of the boys as well type of image, which the prospective 3d user will lap up,especially because of the connection of that sort of thing for the younger crowd, plus it makes Maxon even more hip.

6 - You can also put the work on the ver 9 CD possibly, but the benefit is that the user feels included in the process which is a great thing considering the way some other 3D companies act.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

What do you think?........I think this could be very very benneficial to Maxon if its carried out properly.

Yeah, we set up the CafePress shop around the beginning of the year as a trial. Some of our employees have ordered a few items to check out the quality, and it's actually pretty good. Since it seems like there's interest, we'll probably link it through maxonshop in the near future and expand the product line. If there's something there you like, by all means go ahead and order it.

Yes, you should definitely link through maxonshop, and if you could expand both the product line as well as the motifs (for example with some of the recent 3D World ads) I think you could make a buck or two :)

/Anders Kjellberg

PS. How about kiwi's suggestion of a T-shirt competition, is that something Maxon would consider? DS.
