View Full Version : Can C4D do this? and few more question(s)
AutoBot2000 08-12-2003, 01:12 AM I saw a quick video of someone modeling in lightwave a character and they where using Symmetry but it want like the symmetry in C4D. They didnt need to do one half or cut there model in half, it was just a cube and then what ever he did to one side the other did, and when he added something to the model it didnt make 2 of them. Little hard to explain but i know it wasnt the same type of symmetry that i normaly see.
Also i mostly use C4D for my 2D photoshop images and not so much for modeling from time to time i like to try and also wanted to know that if i box model and like what i them how would i go about making it smoothed shaded, or is what hyper nurbs are for. Might as well do more with C4D since i spent the money on it.
Thanks for your time.

hmm first get a copy of LW and really learn this feature and then ask again.
personally if you point model you never cut anything in half at all anyway.
it does sound nice though.

"this" is mirror mode, which in lightwave and other apps mirrors modelling tools and actions, not the mesh. this is something i would dearly love to have in cinema (hey everyone talk about this for a hwile and say you want it, maxon do listen!

It would be very nice to have. In the meantime, there's a free plugin (MirrorPointPosition) at http://www.studio-fabian.de/ that gives you some of this functionality.

Haven't got a clue what you're talking about but, you're the boss, the sjhah, the king, so: "Maxon, I want LW mirror mode in C4D".
Cheers ;)

LW's symmetry mode is really helpful, as are a lot of little things in LW's modeler. Can't say much for the Layout portion, but the LW modeler has got some serious speed and versitility going for it.

For someone coming from C4D or most other apps to lightwave, its a different world. But once you understand the way things work, you might get spoiled easily.
Yes, that lightwave symmetry tool is a great tool.I'll love to see it too in Cinema.
