I didn't see it yet , but i hope you right some words about your work , like what programs did you use , did you use 3dsmax or maya particls system and did you use thinking particls too with that ? i'm talking about the look and glow of the gfx not the Audio Effect that makeing it move.

Really nice works. Impressive. Can you tell for what you used box #3?

Hypnotic, it's a shame that it ended before that the music stops...

Anyway great Fxs

Matthias,

Really great work. Were you just using volume/db to control fields to burst the particle system apart? It'd be cool to see it taken farther and have frequency ranges effect different things as well (low frequency for shaking and high frequency for blooming/lights). I'd love to see a breakdown of what software and techniques you're using. Keep up the great work! :beer:

thank you for your comments,

little making of:

basicly i started with a sphere as an emitter, its x and y position was controled by a motion capture controller (mouse input). I then recorded the motion according to the song, which is defently the most challenging part, especially if you only have a little wacom bamboo for that :D (If you have access to real motion caputre and plan to do sth like this, use it! the 3rd axis would open looooooooots of possibilitys)

After recording the motion i linked a sphere fumefx emitter to my animated sphere and run the simulation with some turbulence, low spacing quality is enough. The velocity multiplier spinner in the fumefx follow operator in pflow is controlled by the speed of the moving sphere

I did use box#3 entension for pflow to slow down the particles again when the animated sphere was moving slowly

I did all that for 2 spheres, 1 for the beat 1 for the lyrik, added some omni lights to the moving spheres, thats it

@FrizzleFry0:
you said you would like to see it taken further, its a big point for me to get to know how far i can push it in different ways. This is something i would not deliver as a commercial video, too less variation, but a good way to research what the key things are that influence the viewing experience, did you for example notice the subtle color and light intensity changes based on the beat ? If so probably not consciously. I will see how far i can push it in the future :)

Awesome! Something about this is such a pleasure to watch. I really like the shapes that the tails create; there must be some other input to this ..other than movement?

i saw your video on 'its art mag' and it completely blew my mind off. I tried to do the same effected using AE (stream of particles moving according to the beats of the song), but this one is way too good. Very good work!!

It would be awesome if you can make a tutorial about this.:thumbsup:

Hey Matthias. I was just kind of curious about your scene set up over all. Did you set up anything in the background or is it just rendering off of the default back drop? And what did you finalize your work in?
