Hi,
I have a glass of a very irregular shape and I want to be half full (or empty) with water...
ant ideas how to manage it

Make a copy of the glass, delete everything but where the water would touch the inside bit, flip the normals and cap the top. You now have an exact copy of the inside of the glass upto the liquid level.

The glass is already 2sided, and if I turn it to 1sided my glass looks strange...
I did what you said and I got this...

Tested on a simple sphere...

Guess it would look fine if I modeled the inner side of the glass... any ideas?

I see, I assumed you had modeled the inside as well. It really would be best if you did, the glass texture will work much better.

Don't quite understand the picture, I wireframe in the perspective viewport would be nice.

That was a test on a ball if it didn't have inner edge cos the model is editable mesh so it'll take years to render...
I think I'll abandon this project or do some improvisation...
Thanks anyway, now I know for the next time...
