View Full Version : Gamma Texture Space Odd Render Problem
FireForce 10-01-2009, 04:29 PM I have a texture which was created in linear space, but softimage is rendering it in RGB space. The problem is that I have another texture on the same object which was created in linear space and that renders fine with gamma correction. How come this one texture is rendering in RGB space ? I have not changed any of the settings that is just an FYI.

I had this once..on 7.01 I think. Rendertree was switching automagically my texture settings from srgb to linear every time I renderregioned.
Switching from Load to memory to read from disc (or vice versa, dont remember) in texture menu fixed it, dont know why.

Tried that, problem still persists.

This might help:

Color Profile is set to automatic in that guide - it's likely the same on your XSI. You either need to change that if you do lots of textures with linear gamma, or change the gamma in the images PPG (change from sRGB to linear).

Problem fixed. Oddly enough all I had to do was get another texture node and plug it in and it worked (I blame this on the full moon coming in a few days)
