You can run Maya Unlimited on Windows NT, XP Pro, XP Home, Windows Server 2003, and Linux (favorably Redhat).

why is there a mac version of maya complete and isnt there of unlimited? Mac users will be excluded in a near future?

No, there is no Unlimited version for Mac.
The Mac version has been picking up in popularity, so it's possible that at some point this might change, but then again maybe not. I don't know, in any case.
