Can anybody please upload or give me a lint to the maya scene with nice hdri lighting setup.
Here is everything went crazy so... few questions:
1 - do you use lambert od surface shader as material for hdri image
2 - ok we need to add a light and turn it off to disable default lighting in maya, but when I put hdri image in the sphere and turn off default light everything is black, image is not lighting up my secene untill I turn up ilumination alittle bit with lambert, and with surface shader everything is just too bright.

I must say that I did fe hdri lightings before and now just can't get that working... what is going no, please?? I'm going cracy!!! :)

1) Lambert is fine

2) You have to render the scene with Final Gather ticked on - that's what gives you the light. - To adjust the highlights of the HDRI image later - you adjust the V value on the HDRI's colour gain value.

I've found out what was it :)
I've connected hdri image to the color node in the lambert instead of ambient node. It works fine when it's connected on ambient node.
That is ok now. A you all probably know there is large colection of the hdri images on the www.debevec.org but does anybodi know what is the bect "coversion" in hdr shop for maya? best hdri setup? i hope that you know what I'm thinking :)
longtitue/latitude and that stuf
thanks again :)

usual setup should be like this
sphere where you map your hdri, sahder - lambert, hdri has to bu plugged to both color and ambient color, also it has to be rotated 90 degrees as its not mapping correctly by default, then u can actually turn off the default light in maya /mr globals, then using the color gain value u set up the brightness of the hdri, but yeah u gotta use final gather and lotsa points for the gi to be accurate
