View Full Version : eve of fire WIP
claymason 09-30-2009, 05:28 PM this is a concept i am working on , eve as a fire goddess.
she is holding an apple and a sword in the other hand.
her head was supposed to be an ant head with human features, but i think im going to just paint a female head and face.

Looks good overall!! Something just bothers me is the head, maybe a little more stylize/abstract like the other parts of the body might look interesting. Cheers

Thanks guys for the comments.
I agree with you Itken84 , the head looks like it dosn't match with the rest of the painting.
ill post up more images as i work on this.
I checked out the Dave McKean website. Some very cool stuff! thanks for the heads-up Katchan.

ok i got back to this.
I desaturated the whole image, that strong orange was getting to me.
i also turned down the contrast, more so in the background.
I changed her head, and now im trying to build up the painting more in layers.
eventually it will not be so abstact , I hope. :)
i added the underpaint of an apple
next is defining a light source more, fixing up the pose (she has multiple limbs) putting in the hands.
I want to add armor and put the weapon back in.
i like where its going , and i think its an improvement over the last one.
i think i still need to desaturate the red a little more.

Its getting a lot more interesting now compare to the first test. Try making your character a little outstanding from the background. Its slowly merging into the background, and might lost where or what is the character is. Hope it helps hemlok.
Just a little tip, you might just want to browse through this quickly for a sense or something to boost you a little.
