View Full Version : Particles problem-make them stay in place!

I have a WIP here ( http://www.cgtalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=80730 ), and as posted in the thread, i have a problem with the particle system, the spend shells that fly out of the gun "dance around" when they hit the floor.
Can anyone suggest how to fix it or cheat it ?
right now its a SuperSpray shooting out mesh, gravity and POmniFlect.

could be a real pain depending on the # of shells, but, you could have your particle instances die just before hitting the floor and have some unique shells lying there, or bouncing and landing there. you know, toggle the visibility.

that was actually my backup plan ... but i got my butt into gear and figured out how PFlow works ... and yes..it solved the problem !!
i'll post a test-render in couple of minutes :)

well, in PFlow the instanced geomertry can be stopped when it hits a deflector, so i made in bouce at first, in next node i bound gravity to it so it bouces a little, you can add couple of nodes like that, and in the last node set it to stop and voila, you can also tell it to keep space between geometry so it doesnt intersect one another... :) Its quite cool ;D
