I like to look of it, bur it'd be nice to see some higher resolution renderings, to comment on detail - in detail. :)

Though, it seems like the animation is the challenge you're after in this case. But by all means, show off animation aswell as larger images.

awesome... it's pretty tight! the second image looks like invert colors.

To animate this will not be that hard just hierarchy all the twirly things to the base and then apply an animated bend ..flex wave whatever modifier.

But if you want it to reach out and grab etc.. it may be harder!
what you might want to do is assign a "look at" controller to the arms that you want to point towards a certain object and keep the wave then where ever you move it'll point at the object... but still it won't wrap around it... hmmmm thinking of a way to do that?

i sort of like the way it looks inverted. it gives it more of a realistic look to it, i think, what do you think? I think the top one looks more like something you would see in the ocean. thank you both for the feedback.

The blue reminds me more of electricity and yeah teh ocean but the bottom on is a bit more natural the thing is that the background isn't really right although it still looks nice. The problem is that it's dark from bottom to top not top to bottom which looks a bit better.. and the color should be darker than the object ( i think)

I just think the top one looks "COOLER" not neccessarily more natural tho

Bizzerker. You need a higher rez image. Currently I might think that looks cool if I was high, but... post a larger image.

i tried to post it at a higher res but it keeps telling me that it cant be more than 2200 k. what format should i put this in? or how do i post it on with my post?

JPEG will be fine. It doesn't need to be THAT big..

And you should be able to edit your own posts, otherwise just overwrite the existing image on your server.

Kind of cool - kind of small - but still. If you want a goal for things to strive for in terms of looks, check out: http://micro.magnet.fsu.edu/primer/museum/

There's a break-down on microscopy techniques and some pretty stunning images in the gallery. I did a couple of cells a while back (you can check them on my website) and used this site as a starting point. Hope that helps, keep up the nice work and *render large*
