hello folks,
i have a composite problem with maya & ae.
i have rendered out tiff files from maya with preMultiply (composite threshold 0)
all works perfect in photoshop....

but ae interpreted the alpha channel wrong. ae added to the transparent pixels white and not the background. (dirty workaround in ae is to modify the matte but this decreases the file quality)

maybe this a newbie question, but PLEASE someone can help me out...
thx in advance.

First of all, try this:
Import again Your Maya-Rendered image or sequence.
Select Your Footage in the Project-Window (not Composition-Window), and go to "File-->Interpret Footage-->Set Footage" or something (I have the german Version here). Try the other settings from the radiobuttons on the top.

AFAIK, it happens, because Maya does not Anti-alias the Alpha-Channel. Try another Threshold, but DONīT set it to "1.000". Just from "0" to "0.999". It was buggy, maybe in V5 itīs not.

Why are you turning off premultiply? Just leave it on and then tell Afterfx to treat it as a premultiplied alpha when you import it.
