Hi there folks, my name is Hélder Souza and i am new here.

I love to draw, 3 years ago i bought a Wacom, my first one, called Volito2. It was small, i hated to draw on that thing, but i paid 70€ for it so i've made some things to justify the investment: hel-souza.deviantart.com

At the end of 2006 i sold the Volito and now, i bought a new wacom, Wacom Bamboo. Let me tell you, the improvements are great, i know this version is nothing special, but for starting is enough, later i might buy a Intuos4.

Well, let me show you my first draw attempt (Not related to the post title):
This was just to see how the wacom behaves, took me 10/15 minutes to make.

Now the dragon i am making (2nd draw attempt):

The actual version:

I have no references, haven't even looked to dragon pictures before start, all came from my imagination, so it's just a practice thing, don't be too arch on me :)

Well, i'll not spend more time on this piece. Took me 2 hours or so.

It was my first draw with. Hope to make more :)

I didn't meant to leave it like this (Kinda unfinished), but the character i chose was not one of the easiest to start with. is a bit complex to draw a dragon and to make it non-cartoonish-like.

Thank you,
Souza.

I think you probably could have used more time in step 2 where you're flushing out the lighting, the lighting on his nose is very wobbly, and there is no light on the top of his head, and his teeth with the behind and to the left light setup you have would be in shadow. You should be able to have the BW version shaded and done before adding in the color
