Hello all,

I am rigging a model with biped in Max 2009. When I try to mirror function, the plane shows up far off to the right of the character. This is only in the X direction, though. The Y and Z planes show up fine.

Is there an issue with the model or something that I can do to fix the problem and mirror the vert weights?

Thanks

Well, although I had tried to freeze transforms and reset the mesh, what actually ended up working was deleting the skin and using the Reset XFrom under the utilities panel. Collapse that and ti works fine now.

Wired.

You didn't need to delete the skin. You could have just reset the Xform, draged xform below skin and colapsed To then toggle Always Deform in skin off and then back on.

yes..always deform is quite often a big time life saver when you have to make changes to either the mesh or biped after skinning

cheers
