Done in Painter 7. I wanted to show the darker side of Batman. I also wanted to get away from the sleek hi-tech look of the movie costume. Batman is a detective and a hero, but he's also a vigilante psycho who's stalking criminals in a weird costume. Inspired by the style of John Foster.

Good painting quality, but the composition could be improved. I would have Batman straddling the guy on the ground (like a black lump was on top of the badguy) and choking the bejeezus outta him. Get closer in and lose the "grafitti" on the left. It confuses me because comics use a lot of symbols and text to express things like emotional reactions.

Yeah, I agree that the background should have less detail; that kind of sharp texture makes it compete with the foreground. Also, we need more vigilantes choking the living crap out of crooks. In real life, I mean.

Thanks for your comments! I was really unsure about the background, as this is the first time I've tried to paint in this style. I can see now that the background steals too much attention... Good thing, I've still got my .rif files.

Besides that being the ugliest Batman face and costume I have ever seen, heard, or had terrifying nightmares of... It's a pretty good painting.

hmmm.. is it just me, or the head feels a little bit too big?... (maybe it's me used to comics's huge muscles thing, though)... :)

Great painting otherwise, though... :)
