I assume that the legal ramifications of this particular product have been properly assessed/cleared... However I'm guessing quite a number of people would not want to give their money to 'the instructor'. :hmm:

I personally sat through this DVD to make sure there was no worrying content before we let it on our shop.
Eat 3D pay their instructors upfront, not in an ongoing fashion - it's an amazing DVD and it would be a shame to see their investment go to waste and prevent them making similar products in the future.
Thanks for the clarification Anton.
I appreciate that eat3d do not want to lose out on the content they've invested in, I suppose it will remain a moral choice for anyone opting to buy it.

Excuse my ignorance, but am i missing something here? I remember the guy who teaches this DvD from when he used to lurk sullenly around MudboxHub thrusting left and right with cutting remarks towards anyone who crossed his path.Apart from that he seemed alright. What's with the question marks over his supposed dubious morality?

That's not something that we're going to discuss on this forum. If you want to go ahead and look into the matter elsewhere that's fine but its not something we want discussed here. Cheers.

I gotta say, I've watched this DVD, and it is by far one of the best training DVD's on character sculpting, that I have seen, And I have seen quite a few. I would recommend this to anyone, who would like to further their knowledge in this area.

I have seen this DVD and it's fantastic.
It's an incredible piece of art to use for educating anatomy and not just some generic pose or model. The explanations, tips and pacing are interesting, explained well and easy to follow.
One of the strongest points of the DVD though is the overlaying of the muscles being explained with visual reference. Going beyond just seeing the artist sculpt details for hours you get to see exactly what the thought process is by having the comparison of the overlay shown as the work is being done. We are artists and what better way to really educate than with visual aid. This is the way it should be.
I'm primarily an environment artist, who BTW has bought Eat3Ds other DVDs on the subject, and I feel it's important to learn everything about our discipline. Eat3D gives us that rounded education to make us better artists coupled with an understanding and appreciation of other areas in our field to make us work better outside of our sphere of experience.

This video was top notch and pretty much what i would have expected from a Eat3d production. I for one loved it and still learned a lot from the tutorial.
I would definitely recommend this tutorial video for anybody wanting to do some awesome character sculpting.

Totally agree. Lets face it theres a LOT of tutorials out there that just aren't very good/long winded/annoying quality etc both free and commercial. Eat3d produces some of the best tutorials for 'next gen' content (apologies, I know 'next gen' refers to tech thats like 6-7years old now!!!), the instructors frequent the forums and reply to almost every query about their dvd's and listen to feedback for future releases etc. that's first class for me.
I haven't got this title yet (damn necessity for food!) but even though i'm primarily an environment artist i'd buy this due to what i've learnt from previous dvd's, you WILL learn from it

Thus far, Eat3D has been an excellent source for high-end CG training. I haven't yet had a chance to watch the entire classical sculpting tutorial, but from what I've seen it appears to be another top-notch entry in the Eat3D catalogue. Keep it coming!

Riki and the Team at Eat Tv are great in My estimation. They have gone through hardships and don't deserve to suffer for the mistake one person made. at the end of the day they are offer a quality product which doe's what it says on the thin, plain and simple , welldone Eat 3D.

I have no idea what people are talking about with regards to any moral issue. The material itself is fantastic. I have recently started teaching myself to sculpt miniatures (28-32mm) and the amount of crossover knowledge for me has been fantastic. Clearly presented, well researched and the information has application outside of the demonstrated medium. It has expanded my knowledgebase both in digital art and without.
For me, Eat3D have continued their high standards and are a premier training resource. I got into their stuff when my mate Cris (olblue) showed me the pillar set and I have never looked back. 10/10.

Much props to you guys, this has got to be one of the best releases from Eat3d yet.
If you're looking to upgrade your technique and break new ground with your 3d sculpts then it would be a shame if you pass this one up.

Eat3d has constantly created quality dvds for thriving professional artists in the field and hobbyists outside. Their content has been some of the best and most concise information I have run into. Riki has continued to create fantastic dvds that provide the viewer with clear and relevant information, and when you think you know it all the instructors at eat3d always have something interesting and intriguing to share with you.
I was excited to see that a sculpting tutorial would be made available and am looking forward to watching this particular dvd

I am an environment artist by trade, but was eager to absorb what I could from this latest offering from Eat3D. Overall, I walked away extremely satisfied with this video.
The instructor's clear, concise delivery is easy to follow and its meaning easy to grasp. I especially enjoyed how the instructor described and demonstrated ear, hand and foot sculpting - the features that frighten me most about character modeling :)
I personally would purchase more from Eat3D with this instructor and subject matter.
Another great one, Eat3D!!

Wow, that was easily the best anatomy classes I've sat through.
The instructor goes into great detail about the form, silhouette, and weight while giving you a indepth understanding of the underlying structure that makes them possible. The instructor was easy to follow, and I never felt like I was being lost through brushes and menus.
The Eat3D guys produced a truly great sculpting vid that I would recommend to anyone, and the fact that it covers both male and female makes it a steal!
