View Full Version : slow rendering
Goodie2Shoes 08-11-2003, 01:30 PM Hi!
Max is rendering very slow...
How can I tell max to render just what the 'user' see...?

Well first off max only renders what the camera can see. It has to prepare all lights (shadows) and geometry first however and this step can take a bit of time when there's lots of shadow casting lights or objects. You're going to have to give more specifics about the scene if you want any pointers on how to speed up rendering though.

Well..i am not agree with this :)
I use Maya, 3DSMax and XSI (old version), the fastest rendering engine is 3DSMax (scanline method).
So i use 3DSMax for client's preview, and go to Maya for final production result :)
Max is rendering slow ? yes if you're using tons of reflection particles, large amount of mesh vertices or 150 lamps with ray traced shadows "on" :surprised

just wanted to know if there is an option to render faster, to let it render just what you see...

for a minute i thought that this was it...
but no, i'm not using a camera even... i just wanted to render the sides that the viewer see... & not to render the back of them or things that are behind other things...
[can brasil do it?]
