View Full Version : Need Help with Spline IK Not curving correctly.
ScotchTapeWorm3D 09-29-2009, 01:22 AM I have a squid character who needs spline IKs for his Tentacle arms. Whenever I do a Spline IK by itself, it curves correctly, but when I have it with a skeleton, moving a CV moves the entire curve, and kind of wants to point to the origin.

Do you have soft selection on?

No I don't. I move it normally. If I bring one of the CVs near the origin then I get a curve, but it should curve all the time, while not move any of the other CVs.

I don't know if it's just me but, the picture you posted has CVs gradually turning yellow to orange. That made me think that soft selection is on.

It's weird, When I do it in Maya 2008 it works. But in Maya 2009 It does that the picture has. However, When I give each CV a cluster, Then It works.

Maya 09 has soft selection feature while Maya 08 (without extension) doesn't have soft selection. And once you apply cluster there is no soft selection.
