View Full Version : Changing the color in 6.5???

I'm tired of the same ole look when i open up modeler, or layout.. My question is is there anyway that i can change the color of modeler and layout so that it's not just grey??? I want to change the whole look of it.. if there are any tutorials or if anyone knows how to do this in lightwave 6.5 please let me know..

you need the flash 5 plugin


you add the following lines to the LWhub.cfg
just change the numbers to change the colors(RGB)
make sure you dont have lightwave or the hub running.

StateButtonColor 210 210 170
ActionButtonColor 170 170 210
DialogButtonColor 170 210 210
DragButtonColor 170 210 170
BackgroundColor 175 175 175
InfoAreaColor 128 128 128
InfoAreaTextColor 0 0 0
ToolButtonColor 250 110 110

sorry you need to leave out the last line of that:
ToolButtonColor 250 110 110
it only applys to LW7+

still no luck.. I think i'm gonna try and reinstall lightwave again, then i will try it again.. For some reason it isn't working at all..
i forgot that i am using 6.5b i wonder if that has anything to do with it?

LW rewrites the config file every time you close the app.
So... add the "color" lines of text to the top of the config file and save it. then lock it or make it read only. You can't make any changes in LW when it's read only, but the color info will stay.
I think this is a pain, but, hey, it works.

close the app, shut down the hub, edit the file (dont bother with the read only stuff) open the app, should be good to go.

OK i got it now.. i was going into the backup config folder instead of the user folder.. It works now... Thanks guys.....:)

every time I don't make it a read only I get the dull grey stuff. and lightwave removes the lines from the cfg file.
Is this new in 7.5?

I just tested it and it seems to work the way it always did. the first time I open LW after editing the file it has the changes. As soon as I close the app and re open it blap! back to grey.

since 6.0 ive never had to make the file readonly.
