I am posting this thread as a common testing ground for Technical Directors.

You can start using this thread RIGHT NOW to talk the TD issues
of this upcoming mini challenge.

Think of it a research place where you can ask questions or submit ideas that can later be used on you individual threads.

Does anyone know what the best way to do tracer fire and crash simulations?

I usually do the tracer rounds in post. I use After effects with trapcode's "particular" plug-in, works fine, with motion blur, smoke and everything you might need.
