Hi I have made a 3d text that I am proud of for my first time. I have tried painting it a few times but I can't seem to get the color to match over all the letters. What I am trying to do is make them very metalic and reflective looking. Could you offer some assistance. Is there a plugin I need to download? Also is there some way to go over and trim all the edges. They look a little rough. I just want to make a small 3d scene where the name comes in. Looks nice and metalic. And as it drifts across the light beams off each letter. Stage one(designing the 3d text) is done. Now I need to cover it. If you could help give me a holler!

Nurbs or polys? One surface or many? Any screenshots? Try bevel plus:
Surfaces>bevelPlus

I know this is goofy but do I have to find a place to host the screenshot or is there a way for me to just put it on the forum?

Aha...reflective looking things ?
how about to create gold or silver reflection color ?, so you don't have to paint on any objects :)

don't know how to do that lol. I was happy just modeling my text and making it 3d.

Here you go (tips for reflection) :)

1. Create new "Phong" Material for your object (text)
2. Apply this set (http://www.geocities.com/zigaretos/gold.txt)

Note for silver reflection : change those dark brown to dark grey and those yellow to white
And don't forget to turn on Raytracing Option on Render Global of course ;)
