Hello guys,

I would like to know how to generate and apply normal map in blender. I dont want to import a normal map from zbrush or mudbox, but I need to generate & apply it in blender itself. This is a part of my R&D regarding normal mapping and I looking on to this very hopefully. If somebody can explain me it with few simple steps, it'll be highly appreciated. Thanks a lot for your valuable time.
Moncy.

this is a good tutorial, in my opinion:
http://www.katsbits.com/htm/tutorials/blender-baking-normal-maps-from-models.htm

its more than just simple steps, but I like that, hope it helps. :)

edit: oh yeah, note that it's 2 pages so make sure to check the page 2 as well! :)

Hi,

I've made a little tutorial here in CGSociety a year ago. It's old but I think that still applies.

Baking and Using Normal Maps in Blender (http://forums.cgsociety.org/showpost.php?p=4964563&postcount=12)

NOTE: you really must complement it with the information in the link posted by fktt. Specially the issues with anti-aliasing.
