it looks really great, good use of colors. don't really have any crit, since I don't kow war 40k and the piece looks finished.

on a side note, know it sounds bad...but poeple don't seem ot check/use the forum PM system much. So I sent you one, wanna check it?

Its not your monitor. At home the blacks are blacks but when I looked at it at work everything was washed out and the blacks were grey. I guess there is a lesson to be learned here about proper monitor calibration :)

I will post a color corrected version when I get home.

Not bad. Id suggest trying to crispen up your colors. The way youve colored it none of the shapes seem definitely defined.

can i know why ur artwork is alitle blur???
i think it will looks nice if it is clear...

I think the main reason it looks kinda blurry is that I wanted to give the impression that the creature was kinda providing his own light (self illuminating?) especially the gold on the armor. I will try to make the outlines more crisp.

Now to make it a very cool image (IMHO) you might try cranking the contrast even more...it still seems a little washed out. Another suggestion would be to do ssomething more with the BG other than the clouds filter...You clearly have talent so show us your talent in both the FG and the BG.
But still...You said it started out as a test...so it's pretty darn good!

beside that i like that pic i'd suggest to add a more 'textured' feel to it 'coz all Warhammer models i've seen so far gained character out of it
