Sounds like a bug. I've seen this many, many times. It's rediculous, annoying, and downright insane.

My only adive at this time would be to check your modifier stack, looking for items left open on the sub-object level, and possibly conflict regarding mods in the stack.

Try adding an edit mesh modifier to the top of the stack and see if that helps. Also, make sure your system resources are ok.

Best I can do at the moment. If you want to be scientific about it, you can always send me the file and let me see if the problem remains on my rig. If it does, than we can rule out your system.

found the problem:

it was the modifier stack. the morph target had an mesh smooth modifier applied to it and the base ring had first the morpher and the a mesh smooth modifier in the stack.

when i deleted the mesh smooth modifer of the morph target (still dont know why i did this :surprised ) and then put first the morpher modifier and on top the mesh smooth modifier at the base ring it worked as wanted :)

dont know if you understand what i mean , but generally it was the modifier stack which caused that problem.

thx 3dzealot for helping.

cheers mcf

Lemme guess, the MS mod was set to turn on at render?

That'd do it. MS is often the culpret...should have mentioned it, but I did'nt want to be insulting.
