hello,

i'm about to unwrap an object. it is in fact very helpful that i can select polygons in the max viewports and get that selection also in the unwrap editor. i do not really like the automatic box mapping, because it splits my object into pieces. i want to flatten and split the object manually, because of the better control and also i have only one object with less seams. therefore it would be useful to select vertices or edges in the viewport, not only polygons and get this selection directly in the edit-window. is there any script that allows me to do so, or have i just overlooked an existing features?

thx for help

Why don't you use the face mode, select your faces, and "planar map" button ?

If you have max 5, there is a tutorial with it on how to do that I believe.
