Hi,

I was wondering if 3ds Max has a feature for animating similar to the animation layers available in Maya, and if there is, can anyone recommend any books or DVDs to learn it?

Also I heard that Maya is probably the best for animation. For those who know 3ds Max and Maya, how would you compare the animation capabilities of the current versions of both programs? Is Maya still the best by a huge margin?

Max has Animation Layers and you can learn them from Help file, which should take aprox. 5 mins ;P

Max animation mixer is far from stable and not that flexible as Mayas animation layers...
Just beware...
