Great Short! I love it! The story is classic, the cartooning modeling and coloring is awesome! Great characters.... and most importantly great animation. You gave the male character great shy yet trying to be bold characteristics!! Two Thumbs way up, this will land you a job, good luck!!

Looks really nice, the walking part reminded me a bit of woody's walk in TS2. Great job, I really liked it!!!

Hey!

Thanks for all the words, it is very inspiring and really good to know that all of you like it. It was a long journey for me to complete this film, many changes, and a reeally tight schedule to do everything, Good time :) The first idea was to have it all very simple about the colour and render, probably some simple shaders with just an occlusion on it, but I put more time on making it colourful :)

Remi: Yeah, I knew that I wanted a cowboy walk by that moment, so basically as reference I had this part of Woody walking on TS2 as well as myself recorded and a few thumbnails, I kept it more on the way that I had in mind, but still got the mood and timing from that particular shot on Toy Story 2, was fun to make it.

travishowe: Yes! I have already done little video showing a few things, kinda a making of, but I also have other things that I didn't put there, such as the very first storyboards and the concept developing of the character.

Cheers!

You already know this, Thiago, but I absolutely love this short, so I'm going to gush about it some more. You did a great job with all aspects of it from the design to the color scheme to the blend shapes for the liquid on the milk. But the best part is the awesome acting and great sense of comic timing. You really brought the characters to life. Really well done, my friend. I applaud you.

Very nice... from the opening credits right through to the end.

The cartoon-style animation was well done, but what I think really works the best here is that there is a very strong sense of story. The shots are well laid out visually, with proper attention to "stage business" on the part of the bartender, who "never does anything but who never stops doing nothing."

The opening shots of "Woody" were particularly impressive to me because in just a very few flawlessly-executed shots you established who this guy is... he's savoring that glass of beer, and then ...

Funny short. You did a great job on the cowboys facial animation when he didn't want to change the speed on the bull. That was fun to watch.

Nicely executed. I concur with everyone else, that the defining moment was him having to go full speed on the bull.

Great short!

I would end it with a little twist:

The guy flew out of a machine outside rather than flying to the bar, Then comes another guy and the girl tries to get him to ride it aswell.

At the end we see the girl counting money and we understand that she owns the machine :)

Thanks for replying guys! Mentioning about the character and concept, just following I will post a few images with some of the character development and other things that I hope you like. Also the clip that I saied before.

ofir_b: Interesting you say that, hehe along the story development I had those two ideas but not together, one came after the other. The second idea for the ending of the film was to have him having such trouble riding that he would be thrown off the saloon and then coming back all embarrassed about the situation, the thumbnails that I gonna post later has some of the shots about it. And about the twist, some of the mentors suggested this, would be funny to, thanks!

So, here are some of the drawings and sketches that I did for the film, unfortunately I lost the pages that I made the sketches for the animations. Also I am putting a screenshot of the stevie rig and the textures that I made, which I didn't spend a lot of time on them, I just made something that I felt comfortable with to achieve the rendering look that I wanted :), really short time to make the things. Right next I will post the thumbnails and the link to the video that I made.

Cheers!

Mozen, thanks a lot mate I really appreciate your words! At the VFS, it was a really great time. I saw many jobs that wasn't quite there yet, but we can always see the effort of the student on accomplishing it. But, what I always have in mind is that the most important piece for any course that we choose to attend is our self, the student is the one who make the course, for sure. So, it's all up to us. Of course that the school maters, but still. Thanks again!
