I finally have some time to work on a personal project, which is basically a street scene. I use Max 9 and Vray, just fyi. I'm thinking about making it a rainy day scene. Not actually raining, but say, just after the rain. What I'm wondering is, how to make my textures look actually wet. I haven't done a rainy scene before, so it's new to me. Is it all just in specularity and reflection mapping? I know I need to make many of the textures darker, due to the wet, I'm just not sure how to get the after the rain effect I want. This includes a roadway, sidewalk, curb, stores, a power box, standard street scene with a couple of shops. Was hoping someone could give me some tips on making everything look wet.

Yep, reflection mapping, combined with appropriate bump mapping, makes stuff look wet.
