Hi

I've got a canon 400D SLR but i'm finding it a bit of a pain to carry around when i want to shoot textures. It's a bit overkill. Point and shoots are so good these days all have at least 8MP etc

What features are particularly useful to look for when considering texture shooting. I was thinking RAW shooting and macro ability would be really useful. Anything else to consider when shopping!?

Cheers.

PS - I've got my eye on this one:

If you're looking for macro and RAW I think you need to give up the P&S idea. The only thing similar to a P&S form factor with those things are the new four thirds cameras. You can get a compact 4/3 with interchangeable lens. They are still kind of new and pricey, but worth a look if size is your thing.

I dont agree! The Ricoh R10 has macro and RAW shooting.
