CGTalk - A thing in a tube

I'm always lurking on these boards, so I figure it was time to actually contribute something.
Started drawing this, and kinda like how it's going. I plan to finish up the pencil drawing then colour it in the computer. I need some practice with doing that, and I think this'll give me a range of options and it includes a few different materials....

anyway, here's the base sketch. Still needs a lot done to it.

Okay, here's the pretty much done pencil drawing. I was pretty stuck on what to do with the legs and the arm on the right... so yeah, this is it. Removed the tube to draw separately.. it was giving me grief.

Gonna start colouring.

as for the left hand, I'd originally wanted to draw it with that hand pressed up against the inside of the tube, but I couldn't get it right. So as punishment the little bastard gets a weird mutant thing instead.

Looks really good, especially this glowing light.
But i dont like that the bottom of its Body got a different Color than the upper Body. I think it would be cooler if youd made the tail flesh-coloured too.

nice idea an concept only the right eye seems positioned a bit wrong (if you see it out of the perspective of the "kid" its the left eye)

cool, this is looking creepy.

just one sugestions. since it's in a tubes, you should give if a double light source. I thin it would bit better! that's all.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Jericho - The bottom half is green because it's from a completely different creature. The two parts have been grafted together. Actually, part of the drawing I think needs to be re-done is where the two parts join. I originally wanted them to be stitched together, but I couldn't get it right, but I'll have another crack at it.

Kazuya - Yeah, Once I've got the tube sorted, I'm definitely going to be adding at least one other lightsource.. perhaps more. I'm not really great at doing that sort of thing, so this'll be practice for me.

PRS-Phil - Yeah, I see what you mean about the eye, but I tried moving it to where it should be and it kinda looks wrong. I guess this fetus really did get the short end of the stick. and hey, assymmetry is all good :)

Hopefully I'll update tonight, although I've gotta go look for work today :\
