View Full Version : Castle Tower and stairs

It's been ages since I sat down with Max but I thought it was about time I did something new. This is a "fairly" quick attempt at a castle tower. I've not quite finished texturing the tower yet and also I'm not 100% happy with some of the textures that are already there. The poly counts could also be trimmed down, but that would be at the expense of texture detail. The counts currently stand at

Total: 1054

Stairs: 344

Floor: 8

Tower: 702

The stairs are a separate object as that will mean they can be reused somewhere else - a dungeon for example. C&C welcome as always :)

Looks great so far. In a cartoony kinda way;)

Maybe cause its a castle you could have some mossy areas in the creases of the rocks. If your going for a realistic look i would suggest using images of stones and rocks. But something tells me thats not the route you taking with this one.

Anyhoo i think it looks great so far...good use of texture space and all....Now lets see the whole castle but only using that one texture map;) hehe

Thanks :) I was going for a fantasy look to the textures whilst trying to keep the model as traditional as possible. Building the whole castle with one texture eh? Hmmmm, would be possible though the poly count would be somewhat high! Still, there's plenty of space left on the texture for different tiles and so on :)
