Been a while since my last post.. here is a 3D self portrait (3D Studio Max). It took me 40 hours over several weeks.
I put an insane amount of detail.. (4000x4000 maps).
I exaggerated some features to have more detail show.

Here it is:

I used photoshop to touch up the final renders a bit.. levels, focus and better highlights in the eyes.

That's it...

Modelling is good.
In 2nd picture eyes look too watery.
Hair is too thick.(density fine)
Skin too plastic,especially the ears.

Hi, it looks pretty good. I agree with sixthe45 about the eyes being too glossy. Overall a very nice render. Can you give any tips on setting up UV's for your head? What map projections do you use etc...

Here is a new render with some Photoshop touch up for focus, levels and color balance and an additional highlight in the eyes. I also quickly painted the clothe around the neck....

Hope you guys like this one better.

The skin looks much better with the lighting in the last pic.

One thing I do notice is that the forehead to eyebrow transition is too smooth. In the last pic you see the forehead curves down very smoothly to the eyebrow. However the eye socket should create a slight bump just above the eyebrow. Texture still needs a bit of work in how it reacts to light, but other than that the model looks very good and well proportioned.

Good Job.

cgtalkfish: I used planar projections for the main sections of the head (front, sides, top, back) then used UnwarpUV and Texported the final Uv map. Here it is:

Mhhh.. I should try render one like the photo above...

Cynical_Saint: Thanks, I will try to improve the skin specularity map. I tend to over emphasize it...
