Although Im already a little bit familiar with walkcycles, Im getting a little bit confused about the general workflow.
Most character rigs have a master control and in the most walkcycle tutorials the character stays within the master and moves his feet back and forwards, the 0 value of the z Translate (Maya) is in the middle of the curve and values changes form + to -. And when the flor contact of the feet is properly animated you can move the whole master. But if the characters walk or run is combined with some special action like turning his body or something, this method doesnt work because of the sliding feet on the floor. And in the fewest cases you need a pure walkcycle with no other action.
Also somebody in this forum said to me, dont animate the master. So I ever animate my character walking away from his master.
So what is the purpose of this classic walkcycle?
