It seems that Disney Studios is not having a good year, financially.

The chairman of Walt Disney Studios, Dick Cook, announced his resignation late Friday as the division he has led for the last eight years struggled with profitability, creative focus and a shifting media landscape.

In the most recent quarter, the studio lost $12 million — despite the smash success of Pixar’s “Up” and the hit comedy “The Proposal” — compared with a profit of $97 million in the year-earlier period. Tumbling DVD sales tied to the underperforming pictures was largely to blame.

Hard to tell if this is good or bad for Disney. Depends on who takes his place. Lasseter is rumored.

You can sort of see a hint of the old Disney in the films he was choosing to greenlight. "Pirates" was a rare one that worked.

But I'm sure he's well-provided for in his upcoming retirement. We should all get fired like that.

Dudde some of the worst movies I have ever seen have come out of disney in the last couple years.....for example...Race to Witch mountain.......... wow.....a new level of suck

If he's responsible of "pirates of the caribbeans 3" then I agree with his retirement.
