Hello! I would like to create a simple 3d text, I have tryed doing like this: I create a text and then I extrude the faces, this way the result is an abnormal text where the surface is not uniform and full of holes, how can I create a normal 3d text in Maya? thank you! Antonio

Try using Surface>Bevel Plus on your Text (and tweak the options).
