I like the loose feel of the painting. However, I can't help but think that if more time had been spent on proper anatomy, proportions and lighting this would have been a much stronger peice overall.
Not bad, but overall it feels a bit flat. Keep going with it!

Wow. This isn't my kind of art, generally, but it's still an amazing piece.
The one thing I wonder about is the fact that the 2 crucifixes are both parallel with the ground. One the one hand it isn't very "realistic" and could be said to diminish the dynamism... but on the other hand, in that position they act to frame the demon, and that lends an additional strength to the composition. Not a crit really, just an observation.
omg lot of replies thx all , for the comments and the crits ! :D

Awesome concept man! Its like your brush work looks sloppy and fast in some places but in another sense it is best that way. Every stroke seems to look well thought out. :buttrock:

Nice piece. I like the sense of movement. Dude looks like he's moving along with a PURPOSE. :buttrock:
Only 2 crits :
First, I think variable-size brushes would have been better for the body, to prevent the anatomy from looking sloppy.
Second, I wish you had used somewhat more saturated colors for the character. There's not enough contrast between him and the background. I suspect that has a lot to do with why it looks flat (as previously mentioned).
ditto to all mentioned already:thumbsup:

Very nice to look at. Is there a story behind this image ?.... If so i'd like to hear about it sometime. Or just a breif cap on what's the characters motives are and what he's up to.

I've got to say, I'm rather surprise to find this plugged on the front page.
No insult intended, but this is not what I consider to be front page work ... the anatomy and proportions are questionable. the style is far too messy for my tastes. Neither the composition, nor the line of action is outstanding, a little dull in my opinion. The concept is just bland (i've seen characters like this too many times).
Sorry to be a bummer, not trying to flame anybody here, I'm just really surprised.

It looks great. It has the same feeling as in the "Vampire Hunter D" anime.

Nice painting. I just think the chain hanging from the cross should be moving, bent or something to show he is walking, (i assume) because at the moment he looks stationary.

Aren't you the little troublemaker. ;) I just finished reading the challenge issues thread.
I thought the same thing ("nice sketch, but...") for about 2 seconds before I shrugged and said to myself "oh well. New content in the gallery forum must be slower than usual." You should consider that the mods are concerned with more factors than "Is this up to snuff?" when plugging work. Musn't let the front page get stale.
