View Full Version : acting WIP
csalvany 09-17-2009, 09:35 AM Hi everybody,
For the last 3 days, I've been working on an acting scene with this character. (the rig is taken from 11secondclub.com)
It's my first lip sync exercise, and I would really appreciate any comments or criticism you could provide.
Thanks

PS: For some reason the video plays twice in a row... Seems like a vimeo issue

He's sort of drifting thru his poses. Which is very CG.
The eyebrows are probably the biggest offender; real eyebrows tend to snap from one extreme to the next without a lot of time spent on getting from A to B.
But in general, he's drifting all over. In blocking that's not a horror. And after just three days this is probably still in blocking.
But looking forward, he needs more snap on some of his gestures. Which is impossible to describe in a sentence here.
One TINY example, at the start when he lifts his hand to do "the point", everything arrives at the same time. Maybe there was a tiny overlap on the tip of his finger, but really the hand and arm pretty much hit their mark all on the same frame.
Also there's a lot of "isolated motion" when one body part moves but the body part it is connected to stays motionless. Like when he does that "Flapping in the wind" gesture with both arms but his torso does not react to this effort..

Thanks for the critique, it really does come useful.
I'll keep working on it!
