View Full Version : should i shift from 3dsmax to softimage for better animation performance ?

Hi Guys,
i working as a 3dsmax animator, where im using biped and morpher to create my animation

after reading some 3d magazine yesterday, i have a doubt, 3 years ago im thinking
if i can master 3dsmax software im sure i can create a good animation

but after reading the magazine i slowly findout there is maya and softimage have
more advantage in animation line

im just have a doubt, should i shift to softimage if i want to archives to good animation ?

can someone advise me... :)

good animation has nothing to do with software. Look at Disney animations. They were using paper and pencils ;)

I mainly use Max, but I also use Maya and Soft depending on what the client wants. From my experience, apart from the terminology they all work the same. Some may argue that one is better than the other, but it's a lie. They will all do the same thing and they will all aggravate you at the same time.
Jumping back and forth between software will only confuse things for you and take you longer to learn animation because you're too busy trying to learn the interface.
Concentrate on learning the art of animation.

drug has right..you you are a good animator..it dosent' matter wich softare do you use
i use 3dsmax and maya for the animation....
i like most maya just because i have a brakedown tools plug in....and halp me a lot with the animation process
but i repeat if you are a good anymator it dosen't matter wich software do you use
