View Full Version : Batch render that doesn't write any images out
FloydBishop 08-09-2003, 08:03 AM OK, I did a quick search of the forum, and didn't find any answers to this specific issue, so here goes:
I do a batch render from within Maya, and I try to see the batch (show batch render). Here is the error I get:
// Result: No image file to show current rendering //
And it doesn't write out any images. The batch render shows up in my task manager as thoug it's running (but it doesn't seem to be doing anything along the lines of CPU usage).
Any ideas as to what's causing this or how to fix it? I'm running Maya 4.5.

Everytime I get stuck with Maya Rendering, I came to this support (http://www.alias.com/eng/support/index.jhtml)
Then i searched for "Rendering" on "Maya Support"
usually, i find the answer I'm looking :)

I looked for a while on the page you mentioned using several different search variations, and I still didn't find anything that has solved my problem.
Anyone have any other ideas?

OK. I've looked and looked on the Alias site. Does anyone have any ideas as to what could be causing this? I have animated some keys on my camera. I saved a version of the file without the camera keys, and that batch renders just fine.
Is there something on the camera that I may have set a key on that would be causing the batch to fail?

I'v egot it writing images now, but when I do a "show batch render", I get an error that says "No image" or something like that. It's almost like Maya can't remember where it's writing the image files to.
Any suggestions?

Oh that's weird, looks like Maya lost its output path
Have you set & checked the global sequence output correctly ? something like this (http://www.geocities.com/zigaretos/global.txt)
and also check for windows > setting/preferences > preferences > files/projects
Select your default project directory and Always start in this project column :)

You might need to Set the Project. If all else fails, just use fcheck and load the animation that way.

What is going on in the scene? Does it render in the renderview?

Yes. It renders fine in the render view, and it spits out images, it just doesn't show them when I hit "Show Batch Render".

Oh.. uh.. well if they are rendering very quickly that might b the reason.. otherwise just double click them in the folder or drop them on fcheck.
